The saving grace of living in Arizona has been the pool. The kids love it and so do we (lots of swimming = tired boys that fall asleep quickly). Just six weeks ago Hewitt was fairly timid in the water (he had a scary experience a couple of years back that led to major pool caution). Well, a super cute 20-yr-old girl home from BYU for the summer worked with both Hewitt and Tosh and I can't believe the progress. The kids have turned into little fish and get more confident all of the time. Now, I know that most of you are enjoying the cooler weather, but should you get a hankering for more summer, head on down. We'd love to have you and according to the locals, it will be "summer" until Halloween.
Okay, so Liv's first experience (on Saturday) wasn't the greatest, but everyone else loves it.

I love that your pool isn't just a pool....it's a cool pool with fun waterfall features! Soooo cool!
And by the way, it's still been hot here with above average temperatures. So don't feel too bad, we're still in the 90's too! (just the lower half)
Great pictures, Tams!
These are awesome! The one with the big boys and Rob really shows how the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. :)
And Liv is such a Pete! She and Cindy Lou have the same "cry" face. Except that Cindy Lou has way darker eyebrows.
You need to post a shot of your whole pool.....it is amazing! I am so glad you have at least that to stay a little cool. Fun!
I guess if summer is sticking around until October you might as well take advantage of it!! We have long summers here too, very warm days going into October, but it's not nearly as hot as there. Your bow and rock band posts are great too. I love the band name, and my verdict is out on the bow still too. I don't think I've given it much thought for the same reasons you hadn't until Liv arrived!
So I should warn you to be very careful about Halloween costumes... all those super cute fuzzy ones are way to hot! Resist the urge and you'll be happy on Halloween night when your child isn't sweating too death.
My first fall here was utter disappointment because that is my favorite time of year. I kept waiting for the weather to get "brisk". But, come Christmas eve after Tate and I went on a beautiful hike in our shorts I got over it... and have been mostly over it ever since.
Anytime you want to come investigate our part of AZ, we'd love to have all of you!
I can't believe you are living in AZ!! I'm sure you all can't either. What a change, but what an adventure. I hope you like oranges and desert. Have you met the Stewarts yet. They live in Chandlier too and went through the MBA program the same time as we all did. Anyway, I love your blog and hope you real soon feel at home.
Love,
Sherry
