So, I just realized by looking at my camera that I have not taken one photo since the beginning of October. My sis-in-law took this darling photo of my "baby" at a family dinner I missed a while back and I think it is a must-post (thanks Camera Queen). Tosh looks so old to me here (even with the ice cream around his mouth). I guess I need to get out of the habit of referring to him as "the baby." Tosh is so fun right now. He repeats almost everything we ask him to (something our other two boys didn't do at this age) and he is making tons of animal sounds, car sound effects, etc. He has learned to jump up and down and tries to jump off of everything (yes, the couch, the bed, etc.). He has also taken to trying to say and do everything that Hewitt does. Here is the happy and handsome handful:
I've gotten lots of questions about the gender of this baby and whether I've had the ultrasound yet. Well, my ultrasound is next week and we've decided to have the technician write the gender down in a card that we will seal and open as a family on Christmas morning! I believe that both sets of grandparents will be joining us for Christmas breakfast and for the occasion. I can tell you that I am more excited for Christmas this year than any other of my life. Our boys are so excited to find out if they are getting another brother or a sister...and I can't think of a better Christmas gift.

how exciting! That's such a cool idea. Make sure you post what the baby is after Christmas!
I'm sorry about ALL your woes Tamsen, as per our conversation the other day, but at least you're feeling better overall. I can't wait to find out what you're having-- I think I'm more excited for this than when I found out my own! I hope I don't have to wait for a blog post. You'd better call on Christmas morning! ; )
You're boys are so cute! I'm glad your feeling better, and BTW, I too was obsessed with Karen Carpenter. My sister and I used to have a pretend Variety Show, "The Karen and Laura Show" To my dismay, she always got to be Karen and my little brother was always our guest star, Paul Newman! WOW! Dating myself yet again!
Ditto to what the Laundry Queen said--I too am looking very much forward to that phone call!
Hope you're all all better soon.
How cute is that! Can I join you for Christmas breakfast? You've got me all excited!
I heard that your boys were sick again and I am so sorry. How are you holding up? What can I do to help? Adri is going through something now too....bummer. I'm glad you are feeling a little better to be able to handle it a little better, but still, I'm sure it is exhausting. Thinking of you!
And I truly love that picture of Tosh! I can't believe how much they've changed since even looking back at photos from August. Too fun!
Tamsen-
Glad to see you're back blogging. I had 5th disease earlier this year. It was AWFUL to have it as an adult. My kids got it too. The effects are totally different for an adult than a child. It felt like I had a sudden onset of sever arthritis. I could barely move my body and I couldn't sleep for almost a week. Anyway, the Dr. told me I had to tell all my pregnant friends that they had been exposed to it because I guess it can be very damaging to a fetus. Just FYI if no one else told you that.
I went private on my blog a while ago but you were sick so I'm not sure if you ever got the invitation. Email me at lonid@charter.net and let me know what email you would like me to send the invitation to.
I'm so glad to see you're feeling better and I LOVE the idea of finding out the sex of the baby Christmas morning! I assume you'll be letting us bloggers know shortly there after??
That is a brilliant idea! How fun. I don't think I could wait...though it will only be about a week more of waiting...anyway, I am so glad that you are feeling better and hope that your boys get better soon!!!
Oh my gosh, that is one cute kid!! He is absolutely gorgeous - just like the other two! Alex got 5th disease last year about this time and I had just found out I was pregnant with Josh. I had to go be tested to see if I was already immune or not - I guess it can be really scary for pregnant women to get it, but if you've already had it and are immune, then it is no big deal. I was freaking out, but I was immune, so it all worked out. Have you been tested for it? It's not like you need another complication to this pregnancy!! Amanda didn't get it when Alex did and the Dr. said that she must have already had it too, but I don't know how I could have missed that one. Alex looked like his poor little cheeks had major sunburn and chafing. Not to mention the crazy rash all over his body that expanded every time he got too warm. It was sad! I hope you are still doing better and I can't wait for that Christmas post!! What a fun Christmas present!
that is going to be a great Christmas present! And yes...Tosh looks adorable in that picture!!! the ice cream makes it even cuter! i'll be looking forward to that christmas post as well!
What a great idea! And that is a darling picture of Tosh. I think he looks a lot like you. What a sweet boy he is...and I still call Ava my "baby" too.
Darling picture. He really is a beautiful boy!!!
Tosh is sure a cutie! And I love your Christmas gender idea. A wonderful gift!
Tamsen:
