Christmas Recap

In all of the excitement surrounding Christmas Day yesterday, I didn't get around to posting some photos and talking a little bit about our Christmas Eve celebration.

One of my very favorite traditions is dressing up every year to act out the Nativity on Christmas Eve. This year we had an especially yummy turkey dinner at Grandma and Grandpa Pete's house with Rob's sister's family and then picked characters and put on costumes. All that are present participate in the Nativity and then we sing carols (such a treat to have married into a very musical and talented family) before diving into dessert.

I am noticing that every year Hewitt is especially happy to take part (and makes the cutest shepherd ever):

Burke was quite serious during the production, but eventually cracked a smile...
Here is my handsome Wise Man (I just love my mother-in-law's costumes) with "Joseph":

Tosh was an especially wiggly Baby Jesus (as pictured here with cousin "Mary") and was soon replaced by a Cabbage Patch doll...
I played a Wise Man, but have certainly spent a lot of time thinking about Mary this year and what she must have been feeling and thinking about the great responsibility (and physical burden) placed upon her.
We had a such a wonderful and special Christmas. I love this time of year as I feel that I personally take more time to think (and teach my children) about the Savior and his miraculous birth, life, and resurrection. I hope that the spirit and peace of this season can continue with all of us throughout the coming year.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Those costumes are amazing! We had that tradition in my family growing up to all dress up and act out the Nativity! I always looked forward to it! Your family looked so cute! I'm glad you had a nice Christmas!!

My favorite Christmas was right after I had Max because I thought so much about Mary! I can imagine that this Christmas has been extra special for you since you're pregnant! You totally made me cry in Primary last week when you were tearing up! I thought it was probably because you were extra sensitive and thinking about Mary!

One more thing...I'm SO sorry you are passing around the flu now! It is awful!!! From what others have told me it sounds like you guys have had quite the sick month too! I can't imagine how hard that was to finally feel healthy yourself and then have all your kids get sick! AHHH!

I thought I was over it until I woke up this morning (sunday) with round #2! I was so sick again that Brody had to come home from his mtgs. It has been the LONGEST 3 days with me in bed! Brody has done a great job taking over but it just isn't the same when "MOM" is out of commision! You know better than anyone what I'm talking about since you were sick for so long this pregnancy! I'm a woose cause it has only been 3 days and I'm going crazy! You guys were tough to do it for so long!

Wow,,,you got a novel! I hope you all feel better soon!

Wow! Great costumes! And it is so true. I always wonder what Mary was thinking about all that she experienced as the mother of Christ.

You all look wonderful, Tam, especially you. :)

I've spent a lot of time thinking about Mary, too, for obvious reasons. What a responsibility she bore, and how nobly she did it.

Hope you're feeling good and that things are progressing well.
