Month in review

Does anyone even check this blog anymore? I finally forced myself to leave my bedroom today and so I thought I'd give a very brief update of the past month, picking up from when I last wrote...

I survived Rob's 10-day trip to Costa Rica thanks to my parents. What a blessing to have my mother taking care of me (as well as the kids) as she handled some pretty messy situations better than anyone else could have. While Rob was away, I ended up in the ER due to a hemorrhage. An ultrasound showed that the baby was doing fine so we are very thankful that we did not lose the baby as we thought may happen. I stayed in the hospital for a few days because of the bleeding and the continued hyperemesis (extreme vomiting).

Until last week, I was on a constant IV drip, but because I have lost over 10% of my body weight (I'm now feeling grateful I had that extra 10 pounds that I usually lose before getting pregnant again) they have put me on TPN which is a bag of fluid that has protein, calories, vitamins, etc. My body didn't handle this too well at first, but I've had a couple of "better" days this week and so I'm hoping to be turning the corner and finally on the rebound! My goal is to be "functioning normally" in the next couple of weeks (by 18 weeks).

Words can't express how grateful I am for the help with my children, meals brought in, notes sent, calls received, and for the prayers said on our behalf. Rob and I both feel overwhelmed at the service rendered to our family and we thank and love you.

Tamsen, I hope things are ready to be better for you soon. I am sorry to hear about the hard pregnancy you have had. That little one is quite a special spirit. Aren't we grateful they are worth it in the end. Moms are great! It is great your mom can be there for you! What would we do without moms?

Thanks to the wonder of Google Reader, I don't have to keep checking to keep checking, if you know what I mean.

You know we're thinking about you and sending our best prayers/good vibes/etc. your way.

Things are starting to look up, I think! I'm using the power of that Patti/Dorothy positive thinking, you know. Oh, and prayers, too, just in case. ;)

I am glad for the update! I have been thinking a lot about you recently, as I have a friend in the ward who has been very ill with her pregnancy too. I hope as the weeks continue to pass that you are feeling better and better! What a blessing to have such wonderful help and service as you go through this time. And I'm still thinking pink for you!

My blog shows me when you've updated....so I was glad to see you show up again! I hope things keep lookin up and getting better. I'm sure you're getting pretty bored in your bedroom. Maybe we should have a party/get together when you're up to it. We'll give you something to look forward to! If you're feeling much better maybe we could serve you something besides the TPN!!! Sound like fun?

Tamsen,
I'm so sorry your still not feeling well. I know how hard it can be to look after 3 children while your feeling well, I can't imagine how hard it must be while your not. I do check you blog regularly, even though I do not comment. If you need anything, please let me know

Thank you for letting us know what's been going on. I have been so worried! I know, I should've picked up the phone and called, but usually when I am THAT sick or recovering from something I am not very happy to chat on the phone, so I didn't want to call and make you chat either. Anyway, your family will continue to be in our prayers and I hope that you will be "functioning normally" soon!!! Please let me know if there is ANYTHING you need!

So glad you're up, if only for a minute or two! I keep checking to see if you're alive. I was on bedrest for a WEEK and went nuts. I can't imagine being as sick as you have been. Here's hope that things look up, and quickly!

Love you!

I don't know what can be said that hasn't been said by all your friends and loved ones. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
