I need a "Clapper" for my keys

Argh! Does anyone else lose their keys as much as I do? I have a special key place and everything. Yesterday I went to take Burke to swimming lessons and my keys were not in their "place." I was able to grab Rob's keys so this wasn't terribly frustrating at the time. As I heard Rob pulling out of the garage this morning I called him on his cell to say, "Hey can you come back and leave me your van key in case I can't find mine?" I've learned from experience that there is no way I can handle getting myself and three kids out the door and on time for church (or anywhere else) if I have to search for my keys on top of it. I spent a couple of hours looking for my keys tonight. I was finally able to remember the last time I had used them...last Sunday! How many women that you know can go an entire week without even realizing that they are missing their keys because they haven't even needed them? Kind of sad isn't it? For the record it isn't that I never left the house...but I rarely leave my neighborhood during the day and was able to walk Burke to school this week. So, to make my long story shorter, the keys were finally found in the side pocket of the backpack that I took to my parents' house last Sunday.

My face was not the only sad one in our home today. I'm not exactly sure what Hewitt was doing, but I believe he tried to jump off an ottoman with his arms full of toys (this child ALWAYS has various things in his hands such as Lego people, ninja figures, random little things in general--you get the idea) and was not able to brace his fall... he split his top lip and it's gotten pretty fat.

Oh, those are the saddest eyes I've ever seen! So cute.

I'm so glad you've jumped on the blogging bandwagon--so far, I really like it. You have a great writing style.

Ahhh...poor Hewitt. Will has always been a bit of a "pack rat" as well and often can't even go to the bathroom without collecting whatever he is and sometimes stuff he is not playing with to put in a pile to wait for him outside the bathroom door. There have been some close calls with that one, but what can you do?

And as for the keys....Jason thinks I "lose" them all the time, when in reality, I think it is quite amazing that I keep track of them as often as I do considering all of the stuff I am constantly hauling back and forth. But I do agree with the "clapper" or pager or something....I mean really! I'm glad you were able to retrace your steps and find those silly keys!

I am so glad you are doing a post. Nice job on the deck. I love your hair Tamsen. I understand your Sundays. Sometimes there harder than spiritual.
